Hi Moben
27th June
I contacted you through your website on eve of 22nd June04 and am pleased to say you responded a day later - thanks for that.
You said your building contractor will contact me and arrange an appointment so top marks so far.
05th July
Well no word from a contractor yet so I'll email Moben again....
06July
Builder rang and also came to have a look at the work involved - agreed it was a shambles. He will contact us soon to arrange a dae when he can come and fix it (apparently along woth a couple of other problems around the Sheffield area). So still reasonable response.
Keep up the good work Mobem.
Mid July
The builder did attend (mid July) to fix the fan vent problems and has done a
good job externally and also corrected a wiring problem hidden behind the fan duct.
However during the job some debris got into the fan unit and damaged it.
The builder was arranging a replacement but we have not heard back.
14Sept
We have rang Moben a couple of times but our contact has not rung back either so have sent another email today
26th Sept - sent the follwoing
Hi Moben,
we still haven't had a replacement extractor fan and have not heard from Moben. The builder who you sent to rectify the original fitting problems has been helpful and says we need to contact "Shaun" as our original Moben contact has left.
So could Shaun contact us to arrange for the extract hood fan replacement to be sent or alternatively could we pick it up from our local Moben outlet (Sheffield retail park?) if this speeds things up and I will fit it myself.
Kitchen originally fitted Feb 04 at address given in this page.

You fitted a Kitchen for us in February 2004 and while the fitters (Watkins of Stockport 0161 485 7192) did the cupboards ok they made a complete mess of the brickwork parts of the fitting - where they relocated the external vent required for he cooker hood. Initially this looked ok but the filling has since shrunk and cracked and when I investigated why it was not venting very well I found the mess you see below.
What I would like is for you to arrange a competent builder - NOT THE ORIGINAL KITCHEN FITTERS - to come and fix these issues. Its should be someone who can correctly fit ducting and seal the vent from the elements. ie a builder not a carpenter.
Enclosed here are the pics of the external cooker hood vent. If you click on the images you can see full size versions of the pictures (2048x1600 about 1Mb each).
Above is the original vent hole filled with something like "Chemical Metal". If its anything like the filling done on the inside its backed by newspaper and it moves when you press it so has no strength at all and is NOT sealing out the rain.
This is the new vent which looks resonable apart from the filler but
If you pull out the vent you see this mess above :-
This is a shot to show there is no ducting or filling between inner and outer wall skins.
You can me.
